At first glance, it is hard to believe, but côte&ciel was not born as a classic bag brand. In 2008 in Paris, design team "Paper Rain" created protective sleeves and tech accessories for official Apple stores. The name came almost by accident: founder Stephane Wembacher asked how the place where the sea and sky meet would sound in French – giving birth to "côte&ciel", meaning "coast and sky".

With designer Emilie Arnault joining and collaborating with designer Damir Doma, the technical project evolved into a fashion brand with a clear vision: a bag should be an extension of the body, not just a container on your back. Today, this architectural aesthetic defines their lineup — from iconic spacious backpacks like the Isar, Sormonne, Saru, and Yukon built as functional MacBook and laptop backpacks, to sleek designs like the Venta, versatile tote bags , and unique keychains .
