Jason Markk started with a gap in the market: back in 2007, sneaker collectors were cleaning their pairs with toothpaste, bleach, or dish soap because nothing existed for the job. In Los Angeles, Jason Mark Angsuvarn hired a chemist and spent ten months developing the first formula built specifically for sneakers: the Premium Shoe Cleaner, a naturally derived, biodegradable solution safe on leather, suede, canvas, and mesh.
The business began in his parents' garage. By 2014, Jason Markk had opened the world's first drop-off sneaker cleaning service in Los Angeles, later followed by stores in London and Tokyo. B Corp-certified since 2023, the brand is built on a simple idea: caring for what you own extends its life and cuts down on waste.
