New Balance has adapted the 1906R for cooler, wetter conditions by introducing thermal insulation made with Primaloft. This update goes beyond a purely visual refresh — the silhouette is now genuinely suited for fall and winter wear.

Unlike GORE-TEX, which is commonly used as an external weather barrier, Primaloft is integrated into the tongue and inner lining of the shoe. The familiar 1906R shape remains unchanged on the outside, while the interior gains added warmth, comfort, and protection from moisture. Breathable mesh panels along the sides are also preserved, maintaining airflow and balance throughout the design.

The model will be released in three muted, Scandinavian-inspired colorways — olive, grey, and black — versatile tones well suited to urban settings during the transitional seasons. The 1906R with Primaloft offers added warmth and everyday comfort without compromising the familiar aesthetic of the original design.
